Oakland County’s Legislative Affairs — Operations Committee reviewed the fourth-quarter FY25 salary-administration report and recommended several classification and title changes to the full board.
Staff told the committee the report includes two items: a title change to align the Environmental Sustainability Officer title with the county’s salary-administration plan and creation of a new district-court classification that carries a higher salary grade to reflect duties currently being performed by an incumbent.
“That was not her official title. It’s officially, environmental sustainability officer,” staff said, explaining the title change. Staff said the court-position change followed a study of duties performed by an employee who had been doing a higher level of work without corresponding pay; county staff recommended correcting the grade to match demonstrated duties.
A motion to recommend the salary-administration changes to the full board was made and seconded. The clerk’s voice readout was transcribed but the numeric count in the automated readout is not clearly captured in the meeting transcript excerpt.
The Retirement and Deferred Compensation Board recommended reappointing Dion Stevens, a registered elector, to a citizen seat. Retirement-board chair Joe Roselle and retirement administrator Carly Webster presented the recommendation. Commissioner Taylor voiced support. The clerk recorded the recommendation vote as 7 ayes, 0 nays.
Next steps: salary-administration changes were recommended to the full board for approval and any necessary budget or appointment follow-up; the retirement-board reappointment will be forwarded for full-board confirmation.
