HMP pre-K project remains on track for late-November substantial completion, staff says

District staff told the board Oct. 8 that construction of the HMP pre-K site is progressing and remains on schedule for substantial completion around Thanksgiving.
A staff speaker said two major pieces of work are complete: synthetic turf has been installed and shade-structure poles have been set; the remaining work includes installation of the gravity/cover elements for the shade structure. “We’re still sticking to our substantial completion date of, hopefully, even, like, around Thanksgiving,” the staff member said.
Board members asked whether the new facility could host community events such as a Halloween parade; staff said the calendar and access would be confirmed with building-level staff and that the district would coordinate on logistics.
No formal action was taken; staff will continue to monitor completion dates and to coordinate event planning with school administrators.
