The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors approved three‑year memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with two county employee groups that include 3% salary increases each year.
A county representative said the agreement with the organized employees miscellaneous unit ‘‘represents the results of a collaborative and positive bargaining process’’ and acknowledged the unit’s constructive approach. The MOU covers a three‑year term and includes a 3% salary increase each year, and the board also adopted a resolution amending the county salary schedule to reflect the change.
Kathleen Hudson, deputy county administrator, presented a similar three‑year MOU for the county’s management unit and described it as the result of a respectful negotiation that also provides 3% annual increases.
The board recorded aye votes during both actions and approved the related salary schedule amendments. No details were presented on the total fiscal cost of the MOUs beyond the salary schedule changes; staff said the agreements were negotiated to balance employee support with fiscal responsibility.
