Planning commission approves series of architectural applications for paint and signage; sends recommendations to council where required

The Royal Palm Beach Planning & Zoning Commission on Sept. 23 unanimously approved multiple architectural-approval applications for exterior paint, signage, and a master sign plan update. Staff recommended approval for each item and there was little or no public comment.

Key items and outcomes:

• 25-097AAR — Wells Fargo repaint, 11707 Okeechobee Blvd.: Applicant Vericon Construction Co. requested architectural approval to repair and repaint the building, handrails and exterior light fixtures; staff recommended approval and the commission passed the motion unanimously (mover: Commissioner Lauren McClellan; seconder: Commissioner Andrew Alba).

• 25-010AAR — Drip Bar wall and marquee sign, 11965 Southern Blvd., Unit 13: Applicant requested installation of new channel-letter wall signage and an under-canopy hanging marquee sign; staff recommended approval and the commission approved unanimously (mover: Christopher Butler; seconder: Lauren McClellan).

• 25-078AAR — Kano Health signage, 11700 Okeechobee Blvd.: Applicant Signalite, Inc. requested a simple wall-sign replacement for a medical office; staff recommended approval; the item was deferred earlier in the meeting for weather and later returned and approved unanimously (mover: Lauren McClellan; seconder: Christopher Butler).

• 25-089AAR — Mid County Vet paint and monument sign reface, 11368 Okeechobee Blvd.: Applicant As You Like It Painting Co. sought approval to repaint and reface an existing monument sign; staff recommended approval and the commission approved unanimously (mover: Christopher Butler; seconder: Lauren McClellan).

• 25-086AAR — Southern Palm Crossing master sign criteria, 11001 Southern Blvd.: FASTSIGNS Sarasota, for property owner IVT Southern Royal Palm Beach 1031 LLC, requested updates to the master sign plan (monument, directional and identity signs); staff recommended approval and the commission approved unanimously (mover: Commissioner McCollum; seconder: Commissioner Andrew Alba).

There was no substantive public testimony recorded on these items. Each application was presented by staff, the applicant(s) had no extended presentation, and votes were unanimous. Several items will be forwarded to Village Council where required by code or as resolutions referenced in staff presentations.
