Planning commission backs special-exception request for 35,540 sq. ft. of limited manufacturing at 100 Aldi Way

The Royal Palm Beach Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a special-exception request to allow an additional 35,540 square feet of limited manufacturing, processing and assembly inside an existing warehouse at 100 Aldi Way.

Staff told the commission the application (25-093SE) was evaluated for conformance with the village comprehensive plan and development standards for the Industrial Limited zoning district and recommended forwarding a recommendation of approval to Village Council under Resolution 25-29.

An applicant representative described the proposed use as interior-focused operations similar to a previously approved special exception: shipments come in, items are cleaned or processed inside the building, and products are packaged and shipped out, with minimal exterior movement. "It's mostly all interior," the applicant said, characterizing the operation as similar to prior medical-device cleaning operations the commission has seen.

There was no public comment. Commissioner Christopher Butler moved approval; Commissioner Lauren McClellan seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Next steps: the commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to Village Council for final action under Resolution 25-29 (council hearing date not specified in the meeting record).
