Sewer department seeks additional pickup to ease vehicle shortage — to be paid from sewer retained earnings

Bridal Scoville, assistant chief in the sewer department, said Jeff Aldrich (superintendent) priced a half‑ton pickup at about $50,000. Scoville said the department currently has six staff and four pickups (a half‑ton, a 3/4 ton, a 1‑ton and the superintendent’s vehicle) and that the requested truck would be added to — not replace — the inventory.
Committee members asked whether the purchase would come from town capital or the sewer fund. Scoville and others indicated the purchase would be covered by sewer retained earnings unless a shortfall requires alternate funding; the committee requested confirmation from the superintendent.
