The Dawsonville City Council on Nov. 3 awarded its IT-management services contract to Cyclone, approving a monthly fee of $3,926.90 and a $2,400 onboarding charge, contingent on an acceptable contract.
City staff presented the results of a competitive RFP process (RFP 25-RFP-001) and reviewed finalist interviews. Councilmember Caleb Phillips moved to award the contract to Cyclone; Councilmember Sandy Sawyer seconded.
Supporters of Cyclone noted the company’s local presence and the ability to provide prompt on-site service without extra charge, and referenced prior work for the city. Staff commentary noted that both firms could do the work but had recommended ACNS based on prior government experience. Council discussion weighed the benefits of local responsiveness versus government-sector experience.
The motion to award Cyclone carried. During the vote the chair recorded the outcome as two yes votes and one no vote in the roll-call portion of the discussion; the motion passed by majority and staff will finalize a contract consistent with the award conditions.
