Council approves two police officers for full-time status and recommends emergency-management coordinator

Council authorized the borough manager to forward the committee’s recommendation to Governor Shapiro’s office for formal appointment; the motion passed. Swartzfager addressed the council and said he planned to update and rebuild the borough’s emergency-management plan and appoint deputies to improve redundancy.
Votes: The police appointments were approved by voice vote; the emergency-management recommendation was approved by voice vote after a motion and second.
