Superintendent: district hosted second annual Future Focused Learning Summit with regional partners and students

Superintendent Dr. Miller updated the board on the district's second annual Future Focused Learning Summit, held Oct. 13. The day‑long event convened educators, industry partners, higher‑education institutions, technology innovators and regional workforce organizations to explore trends in education and prepare students for future careers.
Dr. Miller said the summit emphasized personalized learning pathways, artificial intelligence integration, workforce‑aligned career exploration and equitable access to future‑ready opportunities. District staff and students led keynote sessions, roundtables and student showcases; Dr. Miller credited district organizers including Matt Collison and Christine Wagner Deetsch and named several South Fayette presenters. He singled out student Pranita Shatangal for sharing work on a student‑created mental‑health app.
The superintendent said more than 200 regional educators attended and that the summit doubled as professional development for district teachers; the district plans to host the summit annually.
