Tony (village staff) told the board the Root‑Pike Watershed Initiative Network has provided similar services to the village for more than a decade and serves multiple municipalities in southeast Wisconsin, creating economies of scale for outreach. He said Root‑Pike uses a mix of passive and active approaches — social media, booths at events and webinars — and targets the general public, contractors and public officials.
The contract is a two‑year, no‑price‑increase renewal for a total of $12,188 (about $6,094 per year). Trustees approved the contract by voice vote; no opposed votes were recorded.
Tony said local use of a regional provider reduces the village’s cost to meet permit obligations compared with doing the program alone.
