Commissioners noted that while Aquarian (the town’s water utility) serves only a subset of properties, the majority of New Canaan properties rely on private wells, which complicates any townwide drought response. Commissioners agreed to return this topic to a future agenda with invited experts.
Separately, a commissioner pointed out that a bike lane was added over the summer on Route 123. Commission members asked staff (Tiger) to report on the project's permitting and whether similar lanes are planned or required by state or local roadway policies. The commission did not take formal action but assigned follow-up steps.
