Humboldt County supervisors meet in closed session on aviation director appointment; no reportable action

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors went into closed session Nov. 3 to consider the appointment of an aviation director under California Government Code sections 54954.5 and 54957. County Counsel reported the board returned with "no reportable action taken with regard to item C1."
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors met in closed session on Nov. 3 to consider the public employee appointment for the position of aviation director, County Counsel said.
"It is the intention of the board to meet in closed session pursuant to California government code sections 54954.5 and 54957 in order to consider the public employee appointment for the position of the aviation director," County Counsel announced before the recess. The board recessed for what County Counsel estimated would be approximately three hours, with an expected return around 4 p.m.
Chair Bushnell opened the special meeting and called the roll. Supervisors Arroyo, Madrone, Wilson and Bone were recorded present. The chair solicited public comment on the closed-session item; County Counsel and staff noted there was none, and public comment was closed.
After returning from closed session the board reconvened and County Counsel said, "There was no reportable action taken with regard to item C1." The chair then adjourned the meeting.
The closed session was conducted under California Government Code sections 54954.5 and 54957, the provisions the board cited for personnel matters involving public employees. No motions, votes, appointments or other formal actions were announced at the meeting record.
