District staff showed renderings and photos of the new Career and Technical Education addition and reported the project is roughly 95% complete with $21,308,270.20 expended and a projected move-in after the first of the year. Staff also updated the board on the CT center, reporting $6,056,062.34 spent to date and no new change orders.
Louisa County Public Schools staff displayed architect renderings and recent photographs of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) addition and said the building is nearing completion.
Frederito, staff member, told the board, “To this point spent $21,308,270.2 on the addition project that represents 81.9%, 97% of our budget spent, and we have completed 94.76% of the project to date.” He added the district is under budget and is “still trending toward, moving into the building after the first of the year.”
The presentation included exterior shots showing new sidewalks, concrete repairs behind the building, roof-mounted AC and DOAS units, and marked locations for a canopy to cover a bus drop-off area. Staff noted the canopy will protect students as they unload buses and that a connector bridge will be worked on during the summer.
Staff said site work found “nothing of any significance” beneath the old building footprint and described water-retention systems installed on-site because an off-site pond was not feasible. Staff also showed interior photos of the auxiliary gym to illustrate progress on finishes.
On the CT center, Frederito said there are no new change orders and that the district has spent $6,056,062.34, representing about 15.42% of that project’s budget, with 20.71% of the work complete. He told the board that documentation for four separate payments to contractor RRMM is included in the meeting packet.
Staff took questions from board members about the remaining site work and short-term milestones. When asked what would be seen next month, presenters said more CMU/block work and that the project is projected to have roof work by March, weather permitting.
The packet materials and staff remarks did not include a new motion or vote on the CTE addition or CT center during the portion of the meeting covered in the transcript.
