The board approved the contract by voice vote; commissioners discussed the contracting timeline and prior delays on the FY24 audit but accepted the auditor’s February completion date so the auditors can begin preliminary testing and deliver the FY25 audit on the contracted schedule.
The county manager and finance staff said the contract amount is included in the current budget and that the fee represents a modest increase over prior years. Commissioners asked whether the auditor had been asked to provide additional costs if significant catch‑up work is required; staff noted that extra charges had occurred on older audits but had not been necessary in recent years.
