The Atchison City Commission authorized the mayor to execute the closeout documents for CDBG project CDBG23-CR-001, a commercial rehabilitation project at 733 Commercial Street.
Staff described the project as a building-envelope renovation that included storefront window replacement, roof patching and other exterior work on a roughly 7,000-square-foot corner property occupied by small businesses. Staff said the work addressed the building—s envelope and storefronts; upper-story work, including possible residential conversion, was discussed as a potential future phase but was not part of the CDBG closeout.
Brett Wagner of Governmental Assistance Services, the grant administrator, told the commission the final inspection with the architect confirmed the work was built according to the plans and specifications and that payments had been completed.
A motion to authorize the mayor to execute the closeout documents was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The commission recorded the motion as carried.
