The Crawford County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 8 ratified two purchases for the adult probation office: 22 Smith & Wesson 9mm pistols for $7,590 and 22 holsters for $3,885.48.
Trevor, speaking for probation, presented the requests and said both items would be paid from the president judge’s county supervision-fee restricted-receipt account and that neither purchase was budgeted. "This will be paid for by the president judges county supervision fee restricted receipt account, and this was not budgeted," he said. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved both items by roll call.
Probation staff noted the pistol purchase netted a trade-in value, reducing the total cash outlay. The holsters were described as required to be used with the new pistols. The board also approved a related reimbursement of $6,582 to the city of Meadville for the 2025 Live Scan annual maintenance fee; that payment will come from the central booking fee line item.
All items were recorded as ratified and assigned to the relevant county departments for implementation.
