Glens Falls board approves permits for rodeo, Special Olympics, 5K and holiday festival

The board authorized a road closure for the 34th annual Adirondack Stampede rodeo: Oakland Avenue will close from Route 9/Glenn Street to the Finch Mill entrance for the event Nov. 7–8 and allow loading and equipment access as in previous years.
A resolution approved the 2025 New York Special Olympics fall games in City Park, including Maple Street closures and a no-parking restriction on Oct. 15 with full closure Oct. 16–18 and reopening Oct. 19.
The board also approved the Adirondack Runners Club—s annual Gold Goblin 5K (expected ~250 attendees) on Oct. 25 with route and timing details provided, and approved a December holiday-season kickoff and associated closures on Lehi Street to support collaborative events and tree-lighting activities.
All event permits were approved by voice vote without recorded roll-call tallies in the public record of the meeting. Each event organizer must follow standard venue, public-safety and traffic-control conditions attached to the permits.
