Board Urges Continued Community Outreach After Low Turnout at Enhanced Community Chat; Trustees Discuss Hybrid Options

Trustees discussed steps to increase attendance, including targeted invitations to booster clubs, PTC presidents, the ministerium and community organizations; sending invitations to leaders and asking them to distribute materials to their membership; and offering hybrid or Zoom options to reduce barriers to attendance. Staff noted interpreter services are available and that Zoom supports interpretation for remote attendees in events where that is needed.
The board asked staff to consider a hybrid model for at least one future session and to schedule another enhanced community chat in quarter 3; staff offered to produce a list of invitees and to circulate a draft outreach plan. Trustees agreed continuing the chats creates informal community touchpoints distinct from formal board meetings.
