Rowan County board swaps JCPC member, approves multiple advisory committee applicants

The Rowan County Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 3 to remove Siobhan Allen from a county seat on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and to appoint Rebecca Salibi to that position.
The change was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The motion to remove Allen and appoint Salibi was recorded as carried; the transcript does not include a roll-call tally.
County staff also presented multiple applicants for advisory and service boards. The board approved applicants including Pier Brother for the Adult Home Care Advisory Committee; Elizabeth Forman for the Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee; and Ashley Hornberry and Lori Singh Amani for the Therapeutic Recreation Board. Staff noted there remain vacancies across several committees — staff listed 17 vacancies for one advisory roster.
Commissioners did not discuss the individual applicants at length on the record; motions to approve the listed appointments were moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
