Welker said demolition work at the Main Street building has started and that parks and engineering staff have spent significant time reviewing pumping and filtration needs at the fairgrounds. The proposed CDBG project would build almost a half‑mile of ADA sidewalks to connect recently completed parking lots and other park features. Welker also mentioned bids awarded for an old sign on Armory Road and in‑house work on the probation control room remodel and courtroom pews to be built by Arizona Correctional Industries under direction from the Superior Court.
Welker closed by noting the board would address highway engineering and parks items in the subsequent work session.
