Anderson said the company expects benefits such as expanded market access for shippers and fewer trucks on the road, which she said "improves safety, decreases wear and tear on the road, decreases emissions," and would leverage rails safety record. She offered to answer councilors questions and reviewed how letters from local governments are added to a federal application.
Council voted to authorize the mayor to sign the support letter. The motion carried on an online vote; the clerk recorded the motion as passing with six yeas.
