Huber Heights board declares seven properties nuisances, orders city abatement

The Huber Heights Property Maintenance Review Board on July 10 declared seven properties nuisances and ordered city contractors to abate the violations after staff presented photo evidence and case reviews.

Jerry, a staff member presenting the cases, told the board: "Inspection verifies the property does not meet the standard set forth in the code, therefore the property is in violation." He recommended the board declare each property a nuisance and authorize city-contracted abatement; the board voted 5–0 on every motion.

Why it matters: abatement costs will be invoiced to the listed property owners and, when unpaid, recorded as charges against the properties. One property discussed at length, 6219 Apache Street, has taxes in arrears and a resident the staff described as disabled, which staff said made the property a recurring enforcement case.
