Chris Potter, the county maintenance manager, reviewed exterior work including replacement of the north entrance door (low bid $4,414), optional awning construction, repair and painting of the exterior metal skin, and blacktopping at least the first 20 feet of the east-side parking to provide an ADA-accessible route. Inside, bids included carpet replacement (M and M, $11,615.90) and an alternative vinyl plank option closer to $17,000; a painting bid to cover the meeting room, two adjacent rooms and public restrooms was listed at $13,750. Potter also described security measures, concealed wiring for monitors, and the installation of access-controlled doors and panic buttons.
The board discussed logistics including where to move a conex storage box during construction, the need to avoid converting the lot into long-term vehicle storage, and whether to asphalt the full area or only the initial 20-foot access. Commissioners noted some quotes are initial and more than one bid should be obtained for certain items; Potter said he would gather additional estimates. Given outstanding quotes and logistics questions the board voted to table the item for further work.
