Planning Board continues GR Development commercial site-plan review to Nov. 17

The Hooksett Planning Board agreed Nov. 3 to continue consideration of a commercial site plan submitted by GR Development LLC for Map 25, Lots 20 and 57 to the board's Nov. 17 meeting at the applicant's request.
Planning staff told the board the project engineer emailed requesting the continuance. "They have not yet" agreed to an extension of the application window, staff said, but the board moved to continue the hearing to Nov. 17; Jared Williams made the motion and it was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members also discussed impact-fee categories for commercial development. Staff explained that for commercial projects Hooksett currently collects only public-safety and traffic impact fees; parks and school impact fees are assessed only for residential developments. One board member summarized the public-safety split as approximately "90% fire, 10% police," and members asked staff questions about how traffic fees are applied and whether the project would fall in a zone eligible for traffic impact collection.
The continuance was granted by voice vote; the board noted that the applicant's attorney was present but the applicant chose not to appear at the Nov. 3 meeting.
