The Licensing Committee approved two new taxi operator licenses and took sign renewals as a consent package during its Oct. 14 meeting.
The committee granted a taxi license to Philippe Battia (34 Broad St.) and to Jimmy Guzman (347 Chestnut St.). Both applicants were present and the committee approved each license by voice vote.
The committee also took sign-renewal requests as a group and granted them. A separate application for a secondhand articles license at 391 Chatham Street (owner Sarah Paulino) was called and the applicant was not present; the committee moved to table that application.
Vote: Taxi operator licenses and sign renewals were approved; the secondhand articles license was tabled for a future meeting.
