The Lynn City Board of Health voted unanimously on Oct. 21 to grant a variance allowing open-air tattooing at the Capital Art Collective’s proposed location.
Staff told the board that the applicant, represented by the establishment owner (identified in the packet as Jay), had produced a layout that satisfies the city’s proposed body-art regulations. The board’s action was framed as a temporary measure: once the proposed regulations are adopted, businesses meeting the new rules will no longer need individual variances for the open-air practice described in the application.
A motion to grant the variance was made, seconded and approved by voice vote without recorded dissent.
