Cyber Magnet School leadership told the board on Nov. 5 that the program is actively addressing attendance, credit recovery and graduation tracking for a small cohort of students.
The principal outlined a set of findings and recommendations after a beginning‑of‑year site review: strengthen recordkeeping for enrollment, transfers and dropouts; formalize credit recovery and transcript review processes; expand coaching cycles and restorative practices to improve instruction and student engagement; and maintain individualized tutoring and small group supports.
School staff said daily attendance is monitored alongside ingenuity (online coursework) progress reports and that two students are currently on track to graduate in the 2026 cohort. Leadership described an academic‑advising process that reviews transcripts with families and students, and a binder system to keep student records for teachers, substitutes and tutors. Staff said the school is tracking biweekly progress and provides written updates to families.
Cyber Magnet leadership emphasized social‑emotional learning and restorative justice practices as part of the improvement plan, including morning check‑ins on student mood and plans for more outdoor and arts activities to support student engagement.
Why it matters: The school serves a small, at‑risk population where individual supports and recordkeeping can materially affect graduation outcomes. The board heard specific next steps the school intends to implement, and district staff said they will continue monitoring site improvements and attendance data.
