Finance committee advances Snoqualmie 2025 strategic plan to council after consultant recap

The Finance & Administration Committee advanced a resolution to send the City of Snoqualmie’s draft 2025 strategic plan to full council for consideration after a presentation by Burke Consulting.

Brian Murphy of Burke Consulting told the committee the packet includes the strategic plan — which would be the only document adopted by council — a verbatim record of public feedback, an internal implementation plan, a sample 2026 annual action plan and a shell year‑end report. "This is the only document in there that would be adopted by council," Murphy said.

Murphy summarized the outreach: staff and consultants received 18 pieces of written feedback — 14 from community members and four from participants who had been involved earlier in the planning process. He said common themes included support for the plan’s focus, concerns about growth and the mill site, interest in more detailed economic development tactics including tourism, and emphasis on regional partnerships and fiscal sustainability.

A council member asked whether the 18 responses were representative of the city’s roughly 15,000 residents; Murphy said the sample was small and not statistically representative. Community liaison Nicole Wiedy described stakeholder meetings with downtown merchants, the chamber, the YMCA, youth participants and specific outreach to ridge and South Asian residents.

Committee members said the written feedback and the full record were useful for implementation planning. The committee moved the resolution forward to council for nonconsent consideration at the next council meeting.
