Richard Grossbeck, park manager for Bear Lake State Park, briefed the commission on the park’s busy season and capital projects. The park reported strong visitation and revenue growth, attributed in part to restored campsites and a fully operational North Eden facility.
Grossbeck outlined construction progress on the marina expansion, repairs at Rainbow Cove, and a planned dip-tank decontamination station to speed boat inspections and reduce aquatic invasive-species risk. He noted the park has been discussing replacement of older launch-ramp concrete; an estimate near $248,000 was referenced for replacing worn concrete sections to modern specifications.
Commissioners and park staff also discussed parking and queueing constraints at peak times, and the potential for TRT or other funding to participate in necessary marina-related work. Grossbeck said some soils and staging options were being refined to control turbidity and construction cost.
No county appropriation was recorded during the meeting; park staff asked commissioners to consider the park’s priorities as the TRT and budget processes continue.
