The Rich County Commission on Nov. 5 approved a late residential personal-property tax exemption for Christina and Mitchell Bogard of Garden City.
The exemption was accepted after county staff verified the Bogards had provided the documentation showing the property is their primary residence, and the commission voted to approve the applicants’ request retroactive to the current tax year.
Commissioners discussed the parcel identifier and asked the applicants to stop by the assessor’s office to confirm the county parcel number for the assessor’s records. The applicants were told the exemption applies to this tax year once recorded on the assessor’s rolls.
The approval was moved, seconded and carried by a voice vote with no recorded dissent.
