Board approves three change orders for new fire engine after factory revisions

The Logansport City Board of Public Works and Safety on Nov. 5 approved three change orders for a new fire engine after Chief Miller reported additional items discovered during a factory visit.
Chief Miller told the board he and others visited the manufacturer in South Dakota in May and that several overlooked items or necessary changes were identified that resulted in extra charges. "We went to South Dakota in May to the factory and these are just things that were overlooked or that needed changed," Chief Miller said. He said the city council had already approved payment for the additional charges on the previous Monday and that the apparatus is needed.
The board moved, seconded and approved change orders 1, 2 and 3 by unanimous vote.
Ending The board authorized the additional charges so the fire department can proceed with completion and delivery of the engine.
