The Lorain County Board of Commissioners approved routine fiscal business on Nov. 4, including investments, appropriations, transfers, requisitions, travel requests and the county's regular small-daily bills across general and special revenue funds.
During discussion on investments commissioners noted higher returns on recent investments compared with older, lower-rate investments. The clerk pointed out a postage line nearing $100,000 on requisitions pages, which staff said reflects increased government communications and current postage rates.
The board also approved a retroactive insurance payment of $12,211 to Taylor Oswald Insurance Agency for coverage with Colonial Insurance Company for the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Center for Oct. 2025–Oct. 2026. That insurance payment was approved by motion and recorded with affirmative votes.
All consent-agenda items were moved, seconded and approved with recorded ayes from commissioners.
