City awards $28,484 in school support grants to 10 Temple Terrace schools

The Temple Terrace City Council on Nov. 4 approved the School Support Committees recommendations to award $28,484.16 in grants to fund 28 teacher-initiated projects across 10 Temple Terrace schools for the 2025-26 school year.

Christina Paul, chair of the volunteer School Support Committee, told council that members evaluated 34 applications this cycle and used a rubric to prioritize projects that produced measurable classroom or campus benefits. The committee also said it revised application instructions and eligibility criteria to increase transparency and consistency and plans to publish a rubric and procedural guide for future volunteers.

Council members thanked the committee for the volunteer time required to review applications; staff and liaisons noted the committee spent several hours in deliberations and is prepared to return to council if it determines additional funding is needed later in the school year.

Council approved the resolution selecting the grant recipients as presented.
