Lebanon Community School Corp ratifies one-year teacher contract with pay increase and language clarifications

At a public meeting, the Lebanon Community School Corporation ratified a tentative one-year teacher contract for the 2025-26 school year, district officials said.

Dr. Milliman, a district official who presented the agreement, said the contract “is $25.90” added to each teacher in the district and that, if teachers take advantage of the district's 403(b) match, the average compensation increase is “6.1%.” He said the agreement also contains clarifications to contract language and a quarterly perfect-attendance stipend.

The contract presentation emphasized three categories of change. First, Dr. Milliman said the dollar addendum for each teacher was finalized after a brief calculation clarification with district staff. Second, the district streamlined redundant FMLA language that repeated federal regulations and clarified miscellaneous leave for teachers grandfathered into older leave provisions. Third, the contract establishes a dollar pool each quarter for a perfect-attendance stipend that will be divided equally among teachers who meet the eligibility criteria for that quarter.

Dr. Milliman told the board the district posted the tentative agreement and that, by Indiana statute, the final ratified contract will be posted on the district website for public viewing. He also said the district had previously run two-year contracts in recent cycles but chose a one-year agreement this year because of uncertainty at the state legislature about future school funding.

Board members offered thanks to the Lebanon Classroom Teachers Association and its leadership; the board specifically acknowledged Miss Boyette as president of the LCTA for her role in negotiations. After a motion to ratify the contract and a second on the floor, the board approved the ratification by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.

Following the vote, a district speaker said staff would begin work on retroactive pay for eligible employees.

The district said the tentative agreement and the ratified contract will be posted online in accordance with state requirements and invited board questions before the vote.
