City planners presented a community food assessment and draft goals for a Tumwater food systems plan at the July 8 work session, saying the assessment was informed by 28 interviews and 24 survey responses and that staff proposes three overarching goals: improve access to fresh, nutritious and culturally appropriate food for all; reduce food waste; and support local food production and processing.
