Garfield County commissioners approve grants, truck leases, surplus equipment disposal and facilities work

Among the actions, the board authorized two lease‑purchase agreements with Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment for two 2026 Mack trucks for District 1 at $139,804.56 each (VINs 9038 and 9402). The board authorized the chairman to sign a Sheriff’s Office Funding Assistance Grant application in the amount of $298,423.28 for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department. Commissioners also approved the Spatialest Agreement Sales Order #1 for the Garfield County Assessor’s office and accepted a Ladwig Construction quote for additional concrete work at the county annex driveway in the amount of $2,816.00.
The board approved letters of approval for use of the courthouse lawn and gazebo for the Cherokee Strip Celebration (Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce) on Sept. 11 and 13, 2025, and for a Community Event to Promote Downtown (Main Street of Enid) on Sept. 5 and Oct. 3, 2025. The Board of Prisoner Report for July 2025 was signed and multiple cash fund estimates of needs and appropriation requests were approved, including a transfer from contingency to charity of $800.00 and small appropriations for Rural Fire and Highway funds as listed in the minutes.
Under two related resolutions, the board declared two LeadCare II Analyzer Kits (inventory codes MD 200.1 and MD 200.2) obsolete (Resolution #25‑104) and ordered the items junked/disposed (Resolution #25‑105). The minutes list purchase dates and stated original values for recordkeeping.
The board examined and approved a long list of prior‑ and current‑year warrants and purchase orders across multiple funds. Vendors recorded in the minutes include, among others, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment, Haskell Lemon Construction Co., Cummins Equipment Company, OSU Cooperative Extension Service, and the Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority.
In new business the board approved a quote from Silver Arc Welding, Inc. to install new outside handrails at a cost of $39,700.00.
All actions recorded in the minutes carried with Commissioners Clarence Maly and Joe Kegin Jr. voting aye; no nays were recorded and Vice‑Chairman Reese Wedel was absent.
