The measures were introduced as a series of motions during a special session of the Board of the Grady County Commissioners. Commissioner Ruth Bingham moved to reserve amounts to pay unliquidated encumbrances and outstanding claims for FY 2024-2025; Commissioner Zachary Davis seconded the motion, and the vote was recorded as AYE: Zachary Davis, Douglas Duke and Ruth Bingham. The board subsequently approved motions to lapse unencumbered balances from the General and Health funds as of June 30, 2025 and to lapse unencumbered Cash Fund balances from FY 2024-2025 into FY 2025-2026; those motions were moved by Bingham, seconded by Davis and passed on unanimous recorded votes.
The board approved the county's blanket purchase orders, listing numbers 260001 through 260474, on a motion by Bingham that was seconded by Commissioner Douglas Duke. Commissioner Zachary Davis moved to approve the estimate of needs, request for appropriations and transfers affecting the General Fund, Sales Tax -SC fund, County Clerk and County Highway; Bingham seconded that motion and it passed on a recorded unanimous vote.
Meeting minutes record that "No action taken on the allocation of the Use Tax for the FY 2025-2026." The record does not specify reasons for deferring the Use Tax allocation nor any public comment on that item.
