Davis County Budget Committee posts 2026 meeting schedule; tentative approval Oct. 28, public hearing Dec. 2

The Davis County Budget Committee published its calendar for 2026 budget meetings, listing department presentations beginning Sept. 3 and key decision dates that lead to a final budget vote on Dec. 9, 2025.

The schedule assigns dates and presenters for dozens of departmental briefings, including a finance session led by Scott Parke, Human Resources presentations by Chris Bone and several scheduled police, corrections and public-works briefings. Tentative approval of the preliminary budget is scheduled for Oct. 28 in the Admin Building Commission Chambers; departments will have access to the budget for review afterward. Departments were instructed to submit requested budget reductions by 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2025.

A public budget hearing is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2025, in the Admin Building Commission Chambers; a final approval vote is set for 10:00 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2025. The calendar also includes two wrap-up sessions (Oct. 10 and Oct. 13) intended to consolidate remaining departmental items before tentative approval.

The document lists presenters and departments by date, including but not limited to: Lane Rose (State of Davis County Facilities), Scott Parke (Finance), Chris Bone (Human Resources, Risk Management), Emma Parkhurst (Utah State Extension), Brandon Hatch (Davis Behavioral Health), Troy Rawlings (CJC and Attorney Victim Services), Judge Ynchausti (Justice Court), Kelly Sparks (Sheriff's Office), Andy Oblad (Corrections and Commissary) and Michelle Hicks (Animal Care). Many sessions are short briefings (30 minutes) while others are scheduled for longer blocks (for example, Finance on Sept. 15 is 8:30-10:30 a.m.).

All meetings are listed to be open to the public and will be held in Admin. 306 unless otherwise noted. The calendar notes that portions of some meetings may recess to closed session "for reasons permitted under UCA 52-4-205."
