The student device committee is developing recommendations on how to store or remove phones during instruction time and on consequences when a student is caught with a phone; the committee hopes to present options by next semester. Board members and student representatives discussed models used in other districts, including district-wide enforcement where teachers send students to the office for a single point of discipline, and noted exceptions (for medically fragile students or other documented needs) would be required.
