The Clovis City Commission unanimously approved a 10‑item consent agenda that included grant acceptances, contract renewals and event variances.
Items approved on the consent agenda included: participation in the Caitlinna (Kalinda) program administered by the New Mexico Department of Transportation and acceptance of that grant for $200,000; a quote to remove a median on Texas Street from Kay Barnett and Sons; renewal of a memorandum of understanding with Norstead Counseling Services for a mobile crisis response team; a noise variance for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Fiesta on Sept. 6, 2025; New Mexico Capital Outlay grant agreements for the Clovis Bridal Shelter ($500,000, agreement number 25J2920), improvements to the Clovis Police Department ($250,000, agreement number 25J2922), residential street lighting ($200,000, agreement number 25J2923), and public art/sidewalk amenities on Main Street ($225,000, agreement number 25J2925).
Commissioners also authorized staff to apply for and accept if awarded the FY2025 State Homeland Security Grant Program (application amount $442,500) and the FY2025 Emergency Management Performance grant. The consent agenda motion was made by Commissioner Jones and seconded by Commissioner Garza; a follow‑up motion to acknowledge and approve all items passed unanimously.
