At its July meeting the Crook County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative and land‑use items, accepted a local grant and authorized signatures to finalize an airport hangar lease.
Grant acceptance: The board voted to accept a $25,000 Ag West Local Advisory Committee grant for the fairgrounds and authorized Fairgrounds Manager Casey Dilly to complete the required written correspondence. Dilly said the grant will purchase 40 small‑animal livestock pens and requires no local match.
Airport hangar lease: Airport Manager Kelly Cofield requested approval to complete an aircraft hangar ground lease and associated termination and memorandum documents. The board authorized signing the lease documents outside of a meeting, subject to receiving fully executed and notarized counterparts from the other parties; the board directed staff to hold and record the memorandum and termination documents for county records once counterparts arrive.
Plats and zoning: Community Development Director John Iser presented two final plats — Grand Ridge Subdivision Phase 2 and Presada Ranch Phase 14 replat — and the board approved both final plats. The board also conducted the second reading and public hearing for Ordinance 3‑52, amending the county zoning map for a Pala Butte property from Exclusive Farm Use to Rural Residential (R‑10). No public testimony opposed the ordinance at the hearing; the board voted to adopt Ordinance 3‑52 and declared an emergency to make the change effective immediately.
