Jonesboro council advances ordinances on club permits, trailers, traffic signs and firefighter rights

The Jonesboro City Council on Nov. 4 advanced multiple ordinances addressing alcoholic-beverage permitting, outdoor registration requirements for boat trailers and recreational vehicles, traffic sign placement and a firefighter bill of rights, and approved an ordinance authorizing a local auto business to do business with the city.

An ordinance to amend Chapter 6 of the Jonesboro Code of Ordinances to comply with changes in Arkansas law regarding private club permits (ordinance 25-033) was offered by title and moved to a second reading. The motion to suspend the rules and read by title only passed with the council saying "aye." The item will return for further consideration at a later meeting.
