Rita Miller presented a year‑end snapshot of the county license‑plate (tag) agency, reporting transaction volumes, collections and personnel changes. She said the office marked its sixth anniversary under the present contract and introduced Jessica Walters as the new branch supervisor; Walters and a new customer‑service employee, Lindsay Pruitt, remain in training.
Miller told the board the agency’s contract allows an annual one‑week closure for staff vacation and that the branch requested approval to close a week in June; she said the county will submit the closure request to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles for approval. The board moved, seconded and approved the requested closure by a recorded vote of 5–0.
Commissioners praised the tag office’s service and noted the operational convenience of colocating the tag office with the tax collection office for citizens seeking refunds or related services.
