Denton County approves two ARPA‑funded property purchases totaling $11.5 million

Separately, the court approved a first amendment to a commercial contract to purchase 3305 Corinth Parkway (Lot 1, Block 8, Corinth Medical Center) from Texas Health Resources for $9,500,000 plus customary closing costs. The court authorized the judge to sign closing documents and authorized payment of $100,000 earnest money and $5,000 independent consideration to the designated title company on or before Dec. 4, 2024. Funding for both transactions is identified as coming from ARPA dollars.
Both motions passed unanimously. Commissioners said the purchases were part of the county’s use of ARPA funds for one‑time investments and long‑range planning. The judge and county auditor and treasurer were authorized to complete closing steps and remit earnest money as required by the contracts.
