CREED 63 launches PACE cohort with PROSPER grant to help 75 small businesses access capital and legal assistance

Danielle Hines, founder of CREED 63, and Hallie Chambers, program manager, presented the PACE program — a 16‑week course for business owners seeking capital readiness and legal support.
Hines said CREED 63 received a $250,000 grant from PROSPER to run the program and support 75 small businesses across three cohorts during the year. Chambers described program eligibility (in business at least one year, able to provide a recent tax return, located in Birmingham) and curriculum topics including tax planning, budgeting and business and personal credit management. She said the second cohort begins Feb. 25 and the application deadline is Feb. 11; CREED 63 provided a QR code and flyer for applications.
Chambers said CREED 63 is collaborating with Operation HOPE to provide credit coaching for participants who need help creating or improving personal and business credit to be more attractive to lenders. City councilors encouraged CREED 63 to share cohort information with neighborhood associations and other local referral networks.
