OMMA says 283 comments received on proposed permanent rules; most concern prepackaging and testing

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority told its Executive Advisory Council that 283 public comments were submitted on proposed permanent rules and that agency staff will respond individually to each comment.
"About 70% of those comments were about prepackaging requirements, where 16% addressed updated testing requirements," Ashley Kroll, OMMA director of government affairs, said. The agency held a public comment hearing at the Capitol on Dec. 17 and posted the recording on its website.
Kroll said the proposed permanent rules implement recently passed laws including House Bill 3361, Senate Bill 758, Senate Bill 1635 and Senate Bill 1939. OMMA plans to publish an agency rule report and the responses to public comments by Feb. 1 and will notify licensees by email when those materials are available at oma.ok.gov/comment. The council received the update as informational only; there was no quorum to adopt positions and OMMA reiterated it is not an advocacy organization but will provide technical information to legislators and stakeholders.
