The Wappingers Central School District Board of Education on Nov. 3 unanimously approved its consent agenda, authorized additional board members to attend the annual regional dinner and approved a corrective action plan responding to findings in an external audit.
The board resolved to approve the consent agenda (items 5.02–5.15 as stated). Ms. Kellen moved the motion and Mr. Loomia seconded; the chair called the vote and it passed unanimously.
The board also approved 6.01, allowing additional board members to attend the 48th annual regional dinner for board members and superintendents, titled “The Uniquely Human Advantage: Preparing Today's Students for Success in the Age of AI,” set for Nov. 13, 2025, at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, N.Y., at a cost of $80 per person plus mileage reimbursement per board policy. The resolution named Corinne Mondesando and Keith Odems as attendees. Mr. Morgan moved the motion; Ms. Kellen seconded. The board voted unanimously.
On item 6.02, the board approved the Corrective Action Plan that the Audit Committee and superintendent recommended after the external audit presented at the Oct. 6 board meeting. Mr. McFarland moved the motion and Mr. Loomia seconded; the board voted unanimously.
Policies were read silently as part of a first reading (6.03). Board members were encouraged to contact Ms. Kellen, the policy chairperson, with any questions. No substantive discussion or changes to the policies were recorded at the meeting.
There were no public comments on agenda items. The board adjourned at 8:06 p.m. following a motion by Mr. Capillari and a second from Ms. Mondesando; the vote was unanimous.
