The Village of Mount Pleasant Board of Trustees read a proclamation Aug. 25 honoring Davis Driver for more than 27 years of volunteer service to the village and Racine County.
The proclamation says Driver served on the Mount Pleasant Plan Commission continuously since 1998, became vice chair in 2008 and chair in 2015, participated in more than 400 plan commission meetings and comprehensive planning sessions, contributed to ordinance and zoning-code revisions, and helped lead discussions that resulted in creation of Tax Incremental District No. 5 in 2017. It also notes Driver volunteered on more than a dozen other county boards, including the Racine Zoo and Kiwanis Club of West Racine, and that he has been a Mount Pleasant resident since 1982.
Driver accepted the proclamation and thanked trustees and staff: "I would just like to thank the village board, trustees, staff for all of the confidence and support they've shown me over all these years. It's really appreciated. I've made many friends, which I will never forget. Thank you all."
