Delaware County OK approves $161,950 ETR paving project, accepts $17,300 donation for separate overlay

The Delaware County Board of County Commissioners approved two road-paving actions during its Aug. 26 meeting.

Commissioner David Beck moved and Commissioner David Poindexter seconded approval of an Emergency Transportation Revolving (ETR) fund request for District 3 totaling $161,950 to asphalt-overlay one mile of S 600 Road from U.S. Highway 412 north to the intersection of E 550 Road; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Poindexter and Beck voting yes. Beck said the application had become confused on the prior submission and this item clarified the second request for paving that had been tabled at the Aug. 19 meeting.

Separately, Commissioner Poindexter said constituents had raised $17,300 to purchase materials for an overlay of a section of E 247 Road in District 1. Poindexter moved and Beck seconded a motion to accept the donation for materials; the motion passed with both commissioners voting yes. Poindexter said the donor-funded project will likely be completed in September.

The board did not record debate beyond the clarifying comment about the previously tabled ETR application. No additional funding sources, contractor names, or exact start and completion dates were specified in the meeting record.

Actions recorded in the minutes show the board approved the two paving items and recorded unanimous roll-call votes for both motions.
