The Putnam County Legislature's Personnel Committee approved the reappointment of Patricia McLaughlin as director of real property tax services to a six-year term beginning Oct. 1.
Committee members said McLaughlin began serving in June to fill the remainder of Lisa Johnson's term and praised her handling of a difficult billing season. "She's stepped right in," a staff member said, adding McLaughlin had completed required training and courses.
A legislator asked why portions of McLaughlin's backup materials were marked confidential. Mister Eldridge said a resume could be supplied internally but said he was not sure who had designated the documents confidential. The committee approved the reappointment by voice vote; a roll-call tally was not recorded in the public transcript.
The committee noted the Oct. 1 start date and six-year length are set by law but did not cite a specific statute in the public record. No further action or contested votes were recorded.
